Many schools take part in the Thousand Gardens in Africa project. In Italy too, the Slow Food network is developing more than 400 school gardens.
Though they grow in different contexts, Slow Food school gardens in Africa and Italy share a number of aims: together they are part of a network that works to restablish contact with nature by learning how to cultivate responsibly and grow good, fresh and healthy produce.
This network has now also launched an exchange of ideas on garden related educational activities.
Here you can download three examples (in English, French and Portuguese) of activities that have been carried out in school gardens in Africa and Italy, and share them with all those involved in school gardens in your country or region.
