tion for Biodiversity will present a special editio n of the Earth Market in occasion of the 81st International Truffle Fair.
In Pertinace square, the market producers will take center stage, together with 12 Italian and seven International Presidia representing four different continents (Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America) and showcasing unique products such as the Argan oil (Morocco), Rimbàs black pepper (Malaysia) and Chinantla vanilla (Mexico).
The booths of Slow Food and the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity - where visitors can the activities of the association, become a member or purchase the latest publications from Slow Food Editore - will also be present. The latter will be offering international Presidia products and "Siamo tutti africani" ("We all are African") t-shirts for sale as well as providing a tasting of the Harenna Wild Forest coffee (a Slow Food Presidium). The money raised will go towards the Thousand Gardens in Africa project, an initiative launched by Slow Food during Terra Madre 2010 aiming to create food gardens in schools, villages and town outskirts in 25 African countries.
Besides the Earth Market, two Taste Workshop will provide the chance to taste some of the Slow Food Presidia, meet the producers involved in the network and discover some of the wineries featured in the Slow Wine 2011 guide.
11 a.m., Pertinace square, Aperitivo with the Slow Food Presidia - five products from the Presidia featured in the Alba Earth Market paired with Spumante Metodo Classico Alta Langa.
5 p.m., Pertinace square, The Slow Food Presidia at the court of the King of Wines - five products from the Presidia featured in the Alba Earth Market paired with Barolo from the best wineries reviewed in the Slow Wine guide.
